Bach in Bali

Who didn't get to go to Goethe on August 29th '08 ????

So here's the deal
On Friday, not the thirteen,
On Friday, August 29th 2008
At GoetheHaus, Jl. Sam Ratulangi 9-15, Menteng, Jakarta

there was a Performance "Bach in Bali"
Robert Brown (Violinist )
Nyoman Sura (Balinese Dancer & Choreographer)



They both collaborated and performed Balinese Dance accompanied with Classical Music, Can you just imagine how interesting it was ??
On the plus side, The performance was free of charge !!!!!
so be sure to come next time, ok :)

hey... :)
how about Ballet dance performance with traditional gamelan music for next time ?

PS. and I quote from Goethe newsletter :

"The idea for “Bach in Bali ” was born, when Robert Brown was warming up before a rehearsal for the Bali Arts Festival. While playing Bach, a student from Denpasar who was helping with the lights, spontaneously began dancing to his music. Robert Brown presented the idea to Nyoman Sura whose work he admires. Robert Brown: “I thought that putting together Sura with great music would foster great art. I also thought this would help make Bach´s music more accessible.”
